My friend’s father was a wildlife photographer in Africa. He used to reverse the truck towards the wildlife to take the picture. A faster gettaway!

Been charged once, never forget it and the Ex stalled the car! I’d told him to keep the engine running but he said it would overheat!

Photos from the back sounds a good plan! In this situation, we were with a driver/guide and he said it was a youngster and kept on going… slowly. It did move aside, but he was the one who explained about flapping ears.

Lucinda, I only spent three weeks in Kenya, not half a lifetime in Africa!
I was travelling with a maniac who deliberately stopped yards from a “sleeping” rhino on one occasion. I bet they don’t sleep with their eyes open.
